Collect Magazine was my graduation project for the postgraduate course in Graphic Design at SENAC. The project aimed to create a magazine tailored to enthusiasts and collectors of Toy Art figures.
Toy Arts represent collectible items crafted by artists and designers, often produced in limited editions by either the creators themselves or small independent toy companies.
The project encompassed various aspects, including branding, editorial design, and packaging, all designed to cater to the specific interests and preferences of the Toy Art collecting community.
The project's main objective was to replicate the unique experience that buyers have when purchasing a Toy Art figure.
Toy Art figures are typically sold in sealed packages, leaving buyers unaware of the specific figure inside the box. These packages feature captivating illustrations, representing the universe from which the toy art figure originates. Additionally, most boxes showcase all the potential figures that could be inside, giving consumers an idea of the possibilities.
Following this customer experience, the magazine was thoughtfully designed to be sold in a sealed format, always accompanied by an exclusive limited-edition toy. This approach ensures that readers and collectors can enjoy the excitement and surprise akin to buying a physical Toy Art figure, adding to the overall appeal of the magazine.
Each edition of the magazine was designed to showcase a unique layout, offering a fresh and captivating experience with every release. Similarly, the featured Toy Art figure in each issue was sourced from different artists, ensuring diversity and promoting new talents in the toy art community.
By adopting this dynamic approach, the project aimed to serve multiple purposes. Firstly, it sought to highlight and promote emerging artists in the toy art figure market, providing them with valuable exposure. Secondly, the magazine's ever-changing content aimed to attract and engage a broader audience of toy art enthusiasts, expanding the fanbase and introducing new fans to the exciting universe of collectibles. Overall, the project successfully nurtured creativity, discovery, and growth within the toy art community.
Elle Magazine Brasil
During my time as a designer at Elle Brazil Magazine, I was responsible for the layout of articles and sections covering beauty, culture, and entertainment. Additionally, I had the opportunity to contribute with my illustrations by creating digital collages to illustrate the magazine editor's monthly column named "ElleFashionTalk of the Town".
Atrevida Magazine
The Atrevida Magazine is a Brazilian publication targeted towards the teenage audience. It covers various topics, including fashion, beauty, celebrities, behavior, music, and entertainment, aiming to provide relevant and up-to-date content for teenagers.
Throughout my collaboration with the magazine, I was responsible for the redesign of the graphic project in celebration of the magazine's eighteenth year. This initiative involved creating new sections, restructuring existing ones, and establishing a fresh layout standard. With the goal of bringing the magazine even closer to the universe of the readers at that time, the visual language was adapted, incorporating more manual and intervention references throughout the publication.
As the Art Director, I not only coordinated the magazine's design team, but also collaborated closely with journalists and external contributors such as photographers and illustrators. Additionally, I had the the opportunity to take the lead in art directing fashion editorials, actively participating in and coordinating photo sessions and casting to enhance the overall creative vision.
